Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has announced 140 new jobs for Limerick as part of a European expansion by Canadian company Optel Vision.
Optel, which specialises in the development and manufacture of so-called ‘Track&Trace’ vision inspection solutions for manufacturers, is to establish an EMEA manufacturing and operations centre at the former ON Semiconductor facility at Raheen Business Park.
The roles will be created over three years in engineering, design, assembly, testing, customer support, sales, HR, finance and administration activities. Initially the company is looking to hire project engineers and technicians with a mechatronics background to deliver its Track and Trace Solutions.
Optel Vision is taking over the former ON Semiconductor facility at Raheen Business Park, with its CEO Louis Roy claiming it landed in Ireland for the country’s “highly skilled persons”.
The investment has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Innovation and Enterprise and IDA Ireland.
