Storyful Creating 30 Jobs & Microelectronics Sector Short Of Engineers

Today Storyful, lead by former RTE journalist Mark Little, announced the provision of 30 new jobs at its Dublin HQ. The company was acquired by Rubert Murdoch’s News Corp for approximately €18m. It has not been reported yet as to types of roles the positions will be but Storyful are a growing company to look out for in the recruitment sections of the paper!

Also in the news today is the reported shortage of Engineers for the microelectronics sector which currently employs circa 8,000 people. Industry group Midas have highlighted to RTE the positive progression within the sector with 68% of companies reporting salary increases in the last year and 78% either expecting or planning business growth in the coming year. The concern of the sector is the shortage of certain skills in the labour market necessary to meet the demands of the growth. Contemplating a change in your career or only starting out?
