Pfizer have today announced its decision to reverse their previous plans to close their manufacturing facility in Little Island, Cork. The move has meant that the 160 jobs that were due to go are now safe. The decision to reverse the plans was as a result of an increase in the demand for the products manufactured at the site. Carraig Donn, Ireland’s biggest knitwear manufacturing plant, has announced their intention to create 30 jobs in Westport, Co. Mayo. The knitwear company currently employs approx 420 people and the additional jobs will bring their entire workforce to the 450 region. Recruitment for these positions is already underway and they are looking for Machinists, Warehouse Operatives, Knitters and Management.
LexisNexis has announced 70 jobs over the next 3 years with the establishment of their new Data Analytics Centre.
