Two blog posts in a row highlighting job creation in the thousands! It’s getting hard to ignore the positive contributions made by the brave entrepreneurs of Ireland. Enterprise Ireland claim to have backed 81 so-called High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) companies in 2014 which are export orientated, focused on technological innovation and expected to reach annual growth rates of €1m per year.
These companies are hoped to lead to the creation of 1,500 jobs over the next 3 years in Ireland. The majority of these firms are in areas such as software, services, engineering, medical and pharmaceuticals.
16 of the firms to receive funding from Enterprise Ireland were spin-offs of third-level institutions. 14 new start-ups were established by entrepreneurs from overseas where the founders had moved to Ireland to establish their business.
